Northwest Bank wanted to push their digital presence during the pandemic and took their first venture as a brand into animation and illustration. To bridge the gap from their brand to an illustration style, they wanted to stick with clean, minimal illustrations that used realistic proportions and utilized their brand colors. The Northwest Bank "wedge" shape was also carefully utilized throughout the illustrations, to add a touch of the brand in all of the small details.

I defined much of the illustration style in our styleframe phase and later helped the rest of the team keep their illustrations and animations cohesive with that aesthetic.

Our first round of styleframes gave some ideas of what the story could be and explored illustration styles and color options.

The second round of style frames mostly addressed color notes, and overall made the color palette feel a bit more realistic.

The final style used my story and illustrations, but combined them with the visual aesthetics of the other pitched styleframes. It was important to the client to show a diverse group of customers, so that was at the front of our minds when creating the final story vignettes.
